The Phantom Week:

Hello my AP Students (Bloggers)...I hope this message finds you well. First, I do hope you and your family are safe and are close to getting back to a sense of normalcy. As I post this message to you, the Superintendent of our schools announced that classes are cancelled for the remainder of the week. So, what I am thinking at this point is for us not to loose too much of the momentum that we have going for us:

1. Focus on your family's needs. They are most important now.
2. Read INDEPENDENTLY your works of literary merit for Quarter 1.
3. If you have power and the have the ability to work on your Bartleby drafts, then bring that with you when we meet again.
4. The same applies for your Bartleby vocabulary words.
5. Re-read the last 5-6 pages from Bartleby...I would like to briefly talk about those pages and importantly focus on the additional paragraph that Melville wrote for his audience.
6. Next week we will begin Kate Chopin's The Awakening...bring text to class....
7. I have posted the work for next week...check it out...we will call it Week 8.

Stay tuned for more messages....send a message to us...I would like to hear from you...tell us a storm story....

Wishing you the best,

Mr. D.

Here is the plan for next week. Check it out. Define existentialism, absurd hero, and theatre of the absurd (find on the Internet).

If you have questions about these assignments, please leave a comment or email me directly. Remember, I will check the blog until 9:59 pm. You know I need my Seinfeld fix.

Hi Mr. Di Leo!!!

I finally got my power back on a few hours ago. I didn't bring all my Lit stuff home with me on Thursday though. I wrote my essay at my Dad's office (they have power), but I don't have a book (I borrowed one to write my essay) to do my vocabulary. Can I finnish when we get back to school next week? I don't really have any exciting storm stories...I was without power for five days, and my house was really dark, but that's it. I hope you and your family are doing well! See you Monday!
